There’s something special about secretly eloping with your S.O. Yessica and Thomas lived out that dream with a small wedding on the infamous Las Vegas Strip.

“Our story was different from everyone else who married a childhood friend or high school sweetheart,” Yessica said of her relationship with Thomas.

The two met online and felt an instant connection. Both Yessica and Thomas were swept up in the whirlwind romance. Before long, the subject of marriage was broached, and soon it began to come up in every conversation. Within months the two couldn’t stop talking about the prospect of sharing their lives together.

Little did Yessica know, Thomas had plans to make their dream a reality. On a trip home, he surprised her by popping the question at an Italian restaurant. Yessica gave an enthusiastic yes – after all, she had known from the beginning that this was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

The bride and groom’s Las Vegas elopement was sweet and simple. While the ceremony  followed a classic color scheme of white, navy, and silver, the bride felt a theme wasn’t necessary. “I didn’t really have a theme!” The bride explained. “All I wanted was to marry my best friend.” In the end, the couple stuck to the basics. All they needed on their wedding day was the assurance of each others’ love in the little white chapel.

An unforgettable memory from their wedding: their handwritten vows. “We didn’t read a script, we spoke from our hearts,” Yessica gushed.

What advice would you give to other military brides?

Your love story doesn’t have to be perfect. Live in the moment, do daring things and most of all, love your military man and cherish every moment with him.
